[FLNK MAGAZINE] 첫사랑 (CSR) LIVE BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW - Debut 1st Anniversary LIVE 'Shining!'
First of all, congratulations on 첫사랑(CSR)’s 1st debut anniversary! Also, the 1st-anniversary celebration LIVE you’ve just finished was awesome. How was it?
DUNA It feels like just yesterday we were nervous at our first showcase, and now it's already our 1st anniversary. I was so excited and happy to perform live with our fans. And most importantly, on our first anniversary, I became the second leader. I will do my best to show you many new aspects of 첫사랑(CSR) in the future!
GEUMHEE I was a little nervous because we held the 1st anniversary LIVE online and offline simultaneously, but I'm happy and proud to say that we finished the live show with a lot of fun thanks to MAEUM.
SIHYEON It was a delightful show because we could have fun and make memories with many offline and online fans to celebrate our first anniversary. Looking back on our 첫사랑(CSR) for the past year was emotional and nostalgic.
SEOYEON I can't believe it's been a year since our debut, and I'd like to thank everyone who has supported us so much. We'll continue growing and becoming even more impressive, so please show us your love and support!
YUNA I still can't believe it's been a year already. I've learned and felt so much in a year, and I'm happy every day thanks to our MAEUM!
SUA I can't believe how fast time has flown, and I'm glad we celebrated our first anniversary by performing LIVE and having fun with our fans!
YEHAM It's hard to believe it's already been a year since we debuted, and I don't think it's sunk in yet. We're so grateful to MAEUM for their constant love and support throughout the year, every day!
You’ve experienced many firsts in the past year. what’s your favourite first moment?
DUNA It’s my first day at a music TV program, which I've always been curious about and looked forward to, so I remember it more vividly.
GEUMHEE The most memorable moment was when we went to Japan for the first time and stood on the opening stage of KCON. We released three albums in one year and did many stages, but the opening stage of KCON had the most people watching and cheering to us, so I still remember the feeling of standing on that stage.
SIHYEON The first thing that comes to mind is the day of our first showcase. We were nervous because it was the first time we would show everything we had prepared for our debut, so I still remember how excited and overwhelmed we were.
SEOYEON The most memorable moment was our first music broadcast schedule. I was so nervous and shaky before the show, but when I finally got on stage, I was so happy and excited, and I still felt the emotion vividly.
YUNA My favourite memory is the pre-recording of our first music broadcast, and I can still remember all of MAEUM singing the cheers like it was yesterday.
SUA I remember when we pre-recorded our first Music Bank and had our first mini-fan meeting, and I can still remember the temperature and humidity of that day because it was the first time I saw our fans up close!
YEHAM It was the “♡TiCON” showcase day. MAEUM secretly prepared a surprise slogan event for us. During the last verse of the song “Anding (&),” all of them held slogans and looked at us with sparkling eyes, and I can't forget that precious moment.
Have you had any "I'm glad I debuted" moments?
DUNA I'm always grateful and happy that our fans come out to see us at every performance, and I feel like I'm so lucky to have debuted.
GEUMHEE It's my birthday this year, and I'm so happy that so many MAEUM congratulated me on my birthday. Before I debuted, I didn't think my birthday was a big event, but this year it got more meaningful and happy because I received many congratulations. I've become more active, and my self-esteem has increased because of MAEUM.
SIHYEON When fans tell me my presence makes them happy and motivates them, I feel pleased and think, “I'm glad I made my debut.”
SEOYEON When I hear the cheers of MAEUM on stage, I feel so overwhelmed and happy that I don't remember all the hard work I put into practice for that moment. It's my small dream to perform in front of more MAEUM in the future with loud cheers.
YUNA I think about it every time I perform, and I'm so happy to be able to do it while using all the strength I have on stage!
SUA When I hear the cheers when I'm performing, I always think it's a good thing that I made my debut! Also, I feel like I have someone on my side, so I'm delighted every time I perform.
YEHAM When I look at the sparkling eyes of MAEUM on stage, I always feel glad I made my debut.
The members of 첫사랑(CSR) always seem to have much energy, whether on stage or anywhere else. Where does that energy come from?
DUNA We always have a group chant before we go on stage, or we say words of encouragement to each other, and that makes us enjoy the scene more, and we can rely on each other, so we're always happy to perform.
GEUMHEE The same age has its energy, and above all, our MAEUM are by our side, so we gain strength wherever we go. And there's something we do to relax before the stage. We gather our hands and shout, "Hurrah!" If we go up like this, we can perform with more energy.
SIHYEON I think our fans' support is our most significant source of strength, not only on stage but also in everyday life, even when we're upset or having a hard time, when we see and hear their supportive eyes, voices, and words, we feel like all of our negative emotions melt away!
SEOYEON I feel better when I meet people, and when I meet new people and talk to them, time flies by. Even if it's not necessarily that, talking to the members gives me energy!
YUNA I think I get energy from the members. I can't stop laughing with them; they're so funny.
SUA I find calming songs relaxing and energizing, and it's even better if I listen to them while thinking about the lyrics!
YEHAM I enjoy listening to music in general, and when I'm depressed or in a bad mood, I always find it therapeutic to listen to music. “Music is my life” is my motto, so when I'm on stage, I feel empowered by our loud songs.
Do you have any advice for the new leader?
DUNA I'm the second leader after SUA, and I'll do my best to work with our members as a 첫사랑(CSR) leader for a year because Sooah has been such a good influence on the team!
GEUMHEE Congratulations on becoming our second 첫사랑(CSR) leader! As much as you listen to the members calmly, I hope you don't leave yourself alone when you have difficulties. Being a leader can be stressful, but you don’t walk alone, so don't worry. You're our second leader, DUNA! Let's work together!
SIHYEON I'm sure you'll do a great job, but I want you to remember that we are always on your side, and if you have any difficulties, I want you to feel free to lean on us. Good luck, our leader❤
SEOYEON I'd like to tell DUNA not to feel too much pressure as she's the second leader, but I'm sure she'll feel overwhelmed by the responsibility of being a leader. I'm sure she'll settle in quickly and become a great leader if all the members support each other!
YUNA I want her to relax, be herself as DUNA always is, and have fun with us!
SUA I've had so much help from my members when I was a leader, so I'd like to tell our new leader DUNA to trust our members and not to put too much pressure on herself!
YEHAM It might be a bit cheesy, but I'd like to wish her a better year together and say, “Way to go!”
One year later, how will 첫사랑(CSR) look on the second anniversary?
DUNA First, I can't believe it's been a year. I still feel like everything is new and awkward, but I'm looking forward to the second year because we'll be more professional.
GEUMHEE The members of 첫사랑(CSR) celebrating our second anniversary will have grown and matured more than we did during our debut, and we will be achieving our goals little by little in the direction each of us wants to go.
SIHYEON I think we've grown a lot for a year, both externally and internally, and while we're still good enough, I think we've grown to love and trust each other even more and become even better 첫사랑(CSR), both as a team and as individuals.
SEOYEON The members have matured a lot, both externally and internally. I've noticed that we've developed a lot in the past year, and I'm looking forward to seeing us become even more mature and professional as we celebrate our second anniversary. We’ll be able to communicate with more MAEUM than we are now and showcase even more incredible performances!
YUNA I wish we become a little more mature and communicate with more fans.
SUA We'll still be as bright and smiley as we are now on our second anniversary, and I hope we'll be able to relax a little bit. We're very nervous when we speak now, but we'll be able to communicate more efficiently with MAEUM on our second anniversary!
YEHAM On our second anniversary, 첫사랑(CSR) will probably be a little more mature and grown up. As it's the end of our teenage years, we, 첫사랑(CSR), will be more mature.
Please share any goals or bucket lists you want to achieve by your second anniversary.
DUNA I hope that by our second anniversary, 첫사랑(CSR) can go to more countries to perform on stage, and I would like to do a small concert with many MAEUM!
GEUMHEE I would love to go on a trip with all the members. I'm the stay-at-home type, so I only get to spend a little bit of time outside with the members. I'd love to go on a trip for two or three days.
SIHYEON I would love to have a concert for 첫사랑(CSR) and make memories with all of our fans.
SEOYEON I would love to do a concert, and I would love to show a lot of different stages in a private space with 첫사랑(CSR) members and MAEUM. I would also like to do a little bungee jumping with my members!
YUNA I'd like to have an exclusive fanmeeting by our second anniversary to spend much time with MAEUM.
SUA For our second anniversary, I would love to do a concert with MAEUM and fill the stage with our songs.
YEHAM I want to do a 첫사랑(CSR) concert before our second anniversary. I want to show a lot of different stages in a space with MAEUM who support us!
